New sweater knit kit range available

Yarn Vibes is excited to announce a new range of sweater knit kits.

The Dervla Colorwork, Anna Colorwork and Molly sweater knit kits have been lovingly designed by Ailbíona McLochlainn.

With two available in worsted weight and one available in sport weight, there is a sweater to suit the depths of winter or a crisp spring afternoon.

Dervla Colorwork Sweater Knit Kit

This striking colourwork sweater incorporates vertical stripes and stylised blossoms to evoke the experience of a meadow on a rainy day.

Worked in the round, in worsted weight yarn, Dervla is ideal for those new to stranded colorwork. Experienced knitters will likewise enjoy this simple, elegant design.

The kit includes:
4/5/5/6 Skeins of Yarn Vibes Worsted Weight Yarn in Color A of your choice (XS/S/M/L) and 1 Skein of Yarn Vibes Worsted Weight Yarn in Aran (Color B)

Anna Colorwork Sweater

Anna Colorwork sweater knit in Vale in shade Moss and Inis in shade Wild Heather

When we think of dusk in the north west of Ireland (where designer Ailbíona lives), we picture the fuchsia hedges that grow along the side of the road. As the light slowly drains from the sky, their dangling forms glow like jewels against the backdrop of evening shadows.

Inspired by this imagery, Anna is a top-down pullover with a stranded colorwork yoke and a delicate picot edged neckline. Worked in sport-weight yarn above gauge, this is a lightweight garment with elegant drape.

Molly Ladies Sweater Knit Kit

The Molly Ladies sweater knit in Slate (main color) and Pollen (contrast color)

Our Molly sweater is knit in one piece in the round from the neck down. This method results in a finished piece that does not require stitching together, resulting in a seamlessly elegant finished garment.

The stitches in this design have been kept quite simple to allow the design and shape of the sweater to shine through. The designer has added a wave pattern to the yoke and cuffs of this sweater to add some contrast and visual interest.
