About the Designer

Máirín Ní Dhonncha

Co. Galway, Ireland

Máirín is a knitter from the Aran Islands who combines traditional elements of Aran knitting with more modern techniques to create her own original designs.
She first learned to knit when she was only 6 years of age, and at school they moved on to Aran knitting pretty quickly. She knitted her first sweater at age 9, and is sure it's still around somewhere thanks to the durability of Irish wool!
